What the extension does

SoldSleuth enhances supported eBay sold-results pages by identifying eligible sold listings, checking eBay Product Research for the actual sold amount, and displaying the result on the eBay page. It also provides a user-initiated right-click option that opens eBay Product Research with a listing title prefilled.

eBay data the extension accesses

On supported eBay sold-results pages, the extension may process information already displayed by eBay, including listing titles, eBay item identifiers, displayed prices, sale or offer labels, and item-location text. This information is used only to perform the lookup and display the result.

When you use the right-click research option, the extension reads the visible text and destination of the selected eBay listing link to create the research query.

Lookup requests are sent to eBay services from the eBay page. The eBay listing information used for lookups is not sent to SoldSleuth's licensing server.

License and installation data

The extension processes the following information to activate and periodically verify access:

License key: The license key entered during activation
Random installation identifier: A randomly generated identifier representing one Chrome installation. It is not derived from hardware, a MAC address, advertising identifiers, or a browser fingerprint
License records: The customer email associated with an issued license, license status, installation limit, optional expiration date, last four license-key characters, Stripe customer, subscription, price, invoice, and event identifiers and statuses, and activation or verification timestamps

How data is stored

The license key, random installation identifier, license status, and recent verification information are stored locally using Chrome's extension storage. This allows the extension to remember its activation and avoid contacting the licensing server for every eBay lookup.

Successful and unavailable lookup results may also be cached locally for up to 24 hours to reduce repeated requests to eBay. This cache remains in Chrome and is not sent to SoldSleuth's licensing server.

The complete license key and installation identifier are sent over HTTPS to the licensing API when activation or revalidation is required. The licensing database does not retain either value in its complete form. It stores one-way SHA-256 hashes used for verification, along with the license key's last four characters for customer support.

Payments and email delivery

Subscription checkout and billing are handled by Stripe. SoldSleuth does not receive or store complete payment-card information. Stripe provides the billing and subscription records needed to issue and manage a license. Transactional emails, including license delivery, may be sent through Resend.

Service providers and data sharing

The licensing API and database are hosted by Supabase. Supabase processes licensing requests on our behalf and may process standard technical request information, such as an IP address and user-agent information, under its own privacy policy.

Stripe processes subscription and payment information under its own privacy policy. Resend processes information needed to deliver transactional email under its own privacy policy. eBay processes research requests made through its services under eBay's own terms and privacy practices.

Extension data is not sold or shared for advertising, behavioral profiling, analytics, credit decisions, or unrelated purposes.

Data not collected by the extension

The SoldSleuth extension does not collect:

Keystrokes or form entries unrelated to license activation
General browsing history
Precise location data
Hardware fingerprints
Advertising identifiers
Payment-card information
Analytics or advertising-tracking data

Retention

Locally stored extension data remains in Chrome until the extension is removed, its extension storage is cleared, or an applicable cache entry expires.

Server-side license, billing, and activation records are retained as needed to operate the licensing system, enforce installation limits, provide customer support, prevent abuse, and maintain transaction or audit records. Deactivated installation records may be retained as historical records rather than deleted.

Your choices

You may uninstall the extension at any time to remove its locally stored data. You may also contact us to request an installation reset or ask questions about a license record associated with your email address. Requests to delete personal information will be handled subject to applicable legal, security, and recordkeeping requirements.

Security

Licensing requests use HTTPS. Complete license keys and random installation identifiers are converted to one-way hashes before being stored in the licensing database. No method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but we use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the limited information SoldSleuth processes.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when SoldSleuth's functionality or data practices change. The date near the top of this page indicates the latest revision.
